A new double-layer urethane bezel covers the case, buttons, and band lines with soft resin and encases other parts in hard resin. In addition to shock resistance, this design also shuts out dirt, mud, and dust. The urethane inner protector that encases the internal module employs a bellows configuration for shock resistance. Also, shock absorbing gel material is provided at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock for protection. The buckle and case are joined to the band by crews for durability. This model also boasts the largest G-SHOCK case size ever.
