G-SHOCK 40th Anniversary - REMASTER BLACKG-SHOCK, the rugged watch that has been setting the standard for timepiece toughness since its birth in 1983, will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2023. This new G-SHOCK 40th Anniversary REMASTER BLACK series is a limited edition collection of models to celebrate the occasion.
Each model has an all-black finish, and the names of milestone models over the past 40 years are hot stamped into each band. Depending on the model, the side buttons (DWE-5657RE, DW-6640RE, GA-2140RE) and glass (GA-114RE) are engraved with distinctive star marks.
The bands and bezels of all models are made of bio-based resin.
The backlight (DWE-5657RE, DW-6640RE), the 40th logo by Eric Haze on the case back, and four stars representing the number 40 engraved on the ring all identify these timepieces as very special limited-edition models. The DWE-5657RE also includes a replacement DW-5700 bezel, allowing the wearer to enjoy the looks of both the 5600 and 5700 models in a single watch.
