Casio Releases OCEANUS Watches That Receive Both of GPS Signals and Radio Wave Time-Calibration Signals to Keep Accurate Time Anywhere in the World

announced today the release of three new OCEANUS solar-powered
radio-controlled metal watches designed to capture the essence of
elegance and technology. Equipped with an original hybrid timekeeping
system developed by Casio which receives both Global Positioning System
(GPS) signals and radio wave time-calibration signals, the new watches
can determine the user's current location anywhere in the world and
correct the time accordingly with just one push of a button.
In July of this year, Casio released the GPW-1000 series of G-SHOCK watches featuring functions for receiving GPS signals and radio wave time-calibration signals transmitted from six stations around the world. These G-SHOCK watches are gaining acclaim as next-generation watches with an advanced time keeping system.
The new OCW-G1000 watches fit the world's firstt*1 hybrid timekeeping system in an elegant all-metal case worthy of the OCEANUS brand. With just a push of a button, the watches access the exact location information, determine the time zone and adjust for daylight savings time. In as little as only seven seconds, the watches correct the time using either GPS signals or radio wave time-calibration signals, depending on the user's location. The new watches also feature the Dual Dial World Time function, which lets users simultaneously confirm the time in two different cities, making world travel simpler.
In addition, they boast shadow-dispersing solar cells that efficiently receive light using a smaller surface area. This technology enables Casio to create a highly refined watch face design. The face features dual-curved sapphire glass with an anti-reflective coating on both sides for high visibility, and the case has been finished with Sallaz polishing for a lustrous finish.
