Casio delivers fine quality and high functionality in its OCEANUS metal analog watches, which have become popular with men who lead a global lifestyle. Scheduled for release this year, the OCW-G1000 model features user-friendly world time functions and is equipped to receive GPS signals and radio wave time-calibration signals transmitted from six stations around the world.
Lee Byung-hun has performed in many different roles in various productions and has applied his skills as an actor to find success in Hollywood movies. Casio believes that Lee Byung-hun, known not only in Asia but around the world, is a very good model of a man who thrives internationally—the target market for the OCEANUS brand—and so decided to sign him as advertising ambassador. To showcase the handsome features of OCEANUS, Casio will feature Lee Byung-hun in product catalogs and magazine advertisements.
Born in South Korea on July 12, 1970, Lee Byung-hun has appeared in films including A Bittersweet Life; The Good, the Bad, the Weird; G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra; I Saw the Devil; Masquerade; G.I. Joe: Retaliation; and RED 2. In 2012 he received the CineAsia Award for Asian Star of the Year, and the Best Actor Award and Popular Star Prize of Toyota at the 49th Grand Bell Awards.
Casio launched the OCEANUS brand in November 2004 as the world's first*2 all-metal chronograph radio-controlled solar-powered watch. In November this year, OCEANUS will mark its 10th anniversary. Since that first release, OCEANUS has been pushing the envelope on high functionality in an analog watch, leading the way in the watch industry by adding new features like world time functions as well as capability to receive radio-wave signals transmitted from six stations around the world. In December this year, Casio plans to release the new OCW-G1000 model, which can receive both GPS signals and radio wave time-calibration signals. With features like Dual Dial World Time, which not only displays the correct time anywhere in the world with a push of a button but also lets users simultaneously check the time in two different cities, Casio is improving both the precision and user-friendliness of its OCEANUS analog watches.
