Tokyo, July 20, 2017 — Casio Computer Co., Ltd. announced today the release of five new additions to the BABY-G line of women's shock-resistant watches, based on the concept of Tough and Cool. Equipped with a step counter, the new STEP TRACKER BGS-100 comes in five design variations, making each one a fashion item that can be worn every day.
The new BGS-100 counts steps while still offering designs and a comfortable fit that are great for daily use. It is made for women who care about fitness, but who also enjoy looking fashionable every day.
Featuring a three-axis acceleration sensor that has never been utilized in a BABY-G before, the watch starts counting steps automatically whenever the wearer begins walking, jogging, or running. In addition, if the wearer has set a goal for number of steps per day, she can check the current progress on her goal with just the push of a button, which indicates the progress using the second hand. The step counter automatically resets itself to zero when the date changes, and then starts counting again. The watch can also be used for day-to-day health management. When no movement is detected for a certain period of time, the Step Reminder function uses the watch display and an electronic sound to encourage the wearer to get active. It also features a graph showing hourly step count for the past five hours, and step count history can be checked on the digital display.
Casio developed a case with a new structure for BABY-G that allowed the watch body to be made even thinner, while keeping the hour, minute, and second hands, thereby offering improved comfort on the wrist. The watch finish conveys a light impression using a translucent matte resin around the edge of case. Three of the five design variations use the key color of lime green, which goes well with sportswear. The watch also comes in a trendy pastel pink, and in a white that is easy to match with anything. It is a watch that women who appreciate both features and looks for healthy living will want to wear every day.
